This Privacy Policy explains how FORMANT ("the Service", available at formant.webroose.com), operated by WebRoose Development LLP ("we", "us"), handles information. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
The short version
FORMANT runs entirely in your browser. Your audio files and the MIDI you create are never uploaded to us — all conversion and generation happens on your own device.
What stays on your device
- Audio you load (for Vocal → MIDI) is decoded and analysed locally in your browser and is never sent to a server.
- Generated MIDI is created in your browser and only saved when you choose to download it.
- Local storage: when you send a chord progression from the Chords tool to the Melody or Arp tool, it is stored in your browser's local storage so the other page can read it. It never leaves your device and you can clear it anytime via your browser settings.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal information or run our own analytics. Our hosting provider may process standard technical request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability, as is typical for any website.
Advertising
We display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and personalise ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can learn more and manage your preferences here:
Cookies & local storage
FORMANT itself uses local storage only for the in-app features described above. Third-party advertising cookies may be set by Google as described above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
